Dear Ms. MKOC,
I'm a junior in hs and I just started thinking about college - I know, but better late than never. Anyway, do you have any advice on how I can pick a school?
Thanks,
Jodi
Dear Jodi,
You're right, it's never too late to start thinking about college. Even if you were 30, it wouldn't be too late either! So kudos to you for seriously thinking about college now.
Many students that are confused about college often have trouble deciding where they should go. If you're completely unsure, then there are a few questions that you should ask yourself:
There are so many other questions you can ask yourself, depending upon what you think you may want in a college.
Are you interested in going to a name brand school or to a school with smaller classroom sizes? Are you thinking about going to a community college first and later transfering? The questions are as endless as are the answers, but ultimately where you go, depends entirely upon you.
If I were you, I would visit local colleges, universities, and community colleges in your hometown and ask students there about their experiences. Get a feel for the campus and sit in on a class or two. If you find a school that you like, visit their website and find out more about them. Learning about colleges is so much fun! Once you get started, you're bound to find one, two, or more that you really like!
